I have been an agency owner for over eight years. During this time, I have helped many families with their insurance needs. I truly enjoy being able to help protect people’s assets and secure their financial stability, whether it’s their home, auto, health or business.
Born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia, I graduated from Syracuse University with a BS in Operations Management. I’ve also had a little over 8 years active duty in the Marine Corps as a CH-46E pilot.
I must admit to being an avid outdoorsman who enjoys just about anything. When I’m not at the office, I like staying active by going hiking, camping or mountain biking.
Something people might not know about me is that I am an active volunteer in my son’s Cub Scout Pack. Also, I used to be a commercial airline pilot.
Licensed Insurance Representative
I made my grand entrance into the world of insurance in 1998. Since then, I have held positions in service, sales, underwriting and management. I joined The Mautz Agency in 2010 and have had the wonderful fortune of assisting our customers with all of their insurance needs and promoting new customers to come and join us.
I was born and spent the first part of my childhood in Green Bay, Wisconsin. We then relocated to Chicago, Illinois. In 2010, I made the spontaneous decision to try something completely different and moved to the state of Virginia. I also returned to school and completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies.
Providing my customers with valuable services and proper coverage is what I find most rewarding in insurance. Sometimes life happens, and I take great joy knowing we can assist our customers with the best coverage possible, protect their assets and get them back to their regular lives as quickly and efficiently as possible.
In my spare time, I can be found reading a great book, listening to music of all genres and spending time with my loved ones. I love walking and taking long scenic drives in the mountains of the Shenandoah Valley. I also love studying new ideas and am always looking to increase my knowledge in a variety of areas, including scientific, legal and holistic healthcare.
One of my favorite descriptions about myself is that I know a little about a lot. If something piques my curiosity, I am going to research and learn about it. Currently, my interests have led me to learning to play the piano, turning my garage into a year-round garden, meditation and holistic health options.
Recently, I was saddened to learn that my county did not offer any local women centers to help the disadvantaged with counseling, legal services and job training. This has encouraged me to look into ways that my community may be able to provide this, whether through a group of private citizens getting together to help one another or via a professional organization.
LSP Property/Casualty and Life Sales
I grew up in Great Falls, VA and spent most of my childhood outdoors camping and horseback riding. During my 20 years working with insurance, I have seen lots of changes. I love learning new things and educating customers, no matter how unique their wants and needs. I enjoy having a new challenge every day.
When not at work, you can always find me in the barn with my animals, or, if it is a weekend during warm weather, I will be on an RV trip with my husband and our fur kids. I really enjoy all the animals on our farm and our RV trips!
I love to read, and as a certified Master Herbalist I am very knowledgeable about plants and animals. I have a therapy/service dog, and sometimes I do visits to Assisted Living facilities and homeless shelters. I also work with Summit Therapy Animal Services and Pet Partners.
I grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and my original career was in Game Design.
My experience is selling Property & Casualty Insurance. Being able to work with such a talented team and having the support of an established and stable agency such as Mautz’s is what excites me most about working here. I’m excited about what’s to come ahead and the amazing possibilities to lay a solid foundation for my career.
Personally, a major hobby and recreational activity of mine is studying history and learning more about my Northern European heritage. On the weekends, a frequent destination of mine are parks or battlefield. Whenever time allows, I like to detach myself from the confines of contemporary society and just enjoy nature. I also have great affinity for classical music.
